Olivia G.  Hubbard (Gibson)
Mrs. Olivia G. Hubbard was born on October 30, 1924 in Danville, Virginia to Molly and Charles W. Gibson; she entered into rest on August 12, 2017 surrounded by her family. She married George Thomas Hubbard on December 18, 1943. They moved to Jacksonville in 1953. Her working career started at the Dan River Textile Mills in Virginia, in Jacksonville she worked for The Vogue Shops, Arlington Men and Boys Shop, The Matador Mens Store and she retired from Jacksonville University in 1974. She was the matriarch of her family, the glue that kept them all together. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Wesley Gibson Sr., her mother Molly Mae Adkins, her Husband of 67 years George T. Hubbard and her Daughter Judith H. Mitchell. She is survived by her Daughter Patti Anania (Michael whom she called her son), Grandson Rick Monroe, who has taken care of her for the last several months, Grandsons, John Mitchell (Holly) Grandson James Mitchell, Granddaughter Julie Warren (Kevin) Granddaughter, Angela Swansey (Thomas), Granddaughter Maria Anania, Great-Grandsons Jordan Warren, Joshua Mitchell and Charlie Swansey, Great-Granddaughters Naomi Monroe, Emory Olivia Monroe, and Savannah Mitchell. Since retirement she took such pride in her home and family. She attended Ft. Caroline Baptist Church for the past several years. Family will receive friends Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 1:00PM in the Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Olivia's life will be on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Arlington Park Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Powell officiating.
