I was 13 when I visited my sister, Jackie in Norfolk, VA. I'm the baby of 4 girls (at 75 yrs. of age now). I would be out in the front yard playing with my nephew and someone would drive by and honk and I just ignored them. Or someone would wave from across the street and I wouldn't wave back. After all, I didn't know any of the people in that town! This went on for a couple of weeks until finally some lady at choir practice asked Jackie why she didn't wave when she drove by and honked. Jackie looked at her in shock and asked her what she meant. The lady was a little insulted and fussed at Jackie and said "you were in the front yard playing with your son when I drove by. I honked and you didn't even look up. Like you were deaf or something." Jackie had no idea what the lady was talking about.
Then when I attended church with Jackie the next Sunday, all those people were shocked. I looked so much like my sister they thought I was Jackie!! Every one had a good laugh and Jackie was relieved. Of course, as we got older, our looks changed (as they usually do as one ages) and then people would say, "you certainly can tell you two are sisters!"
I already miss you, Jackie. Your baby sister, Tricia
